Our Mission Statement:
Dedicated to buying and breeding quality alpacas.
Farm Description:
Our farm is nestled in the hills of south central New York. Although we are only three miles off a major highway, our beautiful log cabin sets peacefully on 18.5 acres.
How quickly the months/years have flown by since starting in the alpaca business. Our knowledge grows everyday, and we find ourselves hardly being able to stay away from the barn during our free time. Like every year, we anxiously await the birth of our summer cria. Soon the barn will be filled with seven new babies.
Ready to Sell
It is finally time to start saying good-bye to some of our beautiful alpacas and send them to new homes, new owners, and new adventures at your farm. We have a diverse selection of high quality alpacas, in a variety of colors, as well as some amazing herdsires waiting for a little action.
We are willing to work with you, to make a package that accommodates your needs and pocketbook. Come and take a look at our beautiful friendly alpacas, and you will also fall in love with these amazing gentle creatures, just like we did. We will also offer 6 months free board with any alpaca purchase.
Packages and financing are available, just ask.
Agisting/Boarding
Log Cabin Alpacas offers agisting (boarding) opportunities at our beautiful secure farm. If you would like your alpacas spoiled and treated like family, this is the place to be. They will receive the best possible care that we can give. Your alpacas will live in a clean, beautiful, large, open space with spacious overhangs. We throughly clean our barns and pastures twice a day.
We would love to have your alpacas become part of our farm family.
Summer Cria/Babies
Log Cabin Alpacas are expecting 7 babies this summer. Although, Log Cabin Alpacas is a small farm it has big lineage. All of our girls have been bred to top notch herdsires. We look forward to an amazing group of cria, our first cria is due in mid June.
Farm Visits
Farm visits are always welcome. We are more than happy to show off our alpacas and farm. We are always proud to show off and talk about our alpacas.
We are honest open people that will take the time to answer your questions and address your concerns. No question is too silly or too simple, we probably had the same questions when we started and we find ourselves are still asking questions.
Log Cabin Alpacas is ready to help you experience the love of alpaca farming.
Other News
We are happy to announce that our 8 barn guest from Alpacas in the Glen are safe and dry back at their new home in Willet, NY with their owners, Holly and Todd Jacobs.
Log Cabin Alpacas are pleased to welcome two full Peruvian girls from Ideuma Creek Alpacas to our herd. Ideuma Creek's Peruvian Renaizance and Ideuma Creek's Peruvian Butterscotch are both PHA Accoyo Zagot girls. These two juvie girls have made themselves right at home with our other cria.
It is an exciting time at Log Cabin Alpacas, we have purchased 1/2 ownership of our first full Accoyo male. Accoyo Orinoco of Ideuma Creek has joined our herd and will reside at Log Cabin Alpacas. We are pleased to be partnered with our good friends Denise and John Jacobus.
Orinoco has grown into a strapping young man. He has beautiful bright crimpy fiber and stands as tall as our mature herdsires.
As Jill MacLeod stated at the 2012 Northeast Expo, his stature is stellar and he has an abundance of fleece. Orinoco sheared an amazing 12.2 pounds of fleece!
Log Cabin's Dakota placed second at both the 2011 Empire Extravaganza and 2012 Northeast Expo Alpaca Shows. We can hardly wait for Dakota's first 2 cria to be born this summer. He is bred to a dark fawn girl and a true black girl, we can hardly wait!
